Project name:     NeLP III: Strategy Meeting Development of the strategic and action plan to ensure effective ongoing HIV advocacy in the region

Project goal:     Organization of the strategy meeting of NeLP for development of a strategic and action plan for achieving outcomes foreseen by the Budapest Declaration and strengthening of the network structure.

Description:     Representatives of national organizations working with PLHIV from twenty countries met to creatively contribute to developing a strategy for the following period and accomplishing goals and results defined by the Budapest Declaration.

The meeting was a great opportunity for evaluation and data collection with country profiles of NeLP member organizations, particularly of those crucial for drafting of the NeLP strategic and action planning documents.

Participants were provide support  for future work in the process of identification of most-at-risk populations (MARPs) and in their efforts for identifying solutions on integration of the MARPs in the development planning process by using the participative involvement model. Using the same models the participants of the meetings were active in maintaining the focus focused on the expected outcomes foreseen by the Budapest Declaration.

Results:    Defined Strategic and action plans for the following period in accordance with the Budapest Declaration, with an accent on advocacy.

Participants of the meeting additionally trained for HIV related advocacy and empowered to distribute those skills to other organizations in their countries.

Strengthened relationships between organizations of civil society for further joined actions in fighting the HIV infection but also improving quality of life of PLHIV.
